As of April 1, 2011, USCIS has started to accept H-1B petitions subject to the 2012 fiscal year cap. The current annual cap on the H-1B category is 65,000. An additional 20,000 H-1B visas are set aside for the first 20,000 foreign workers seeking classification under the H-1B category and who have obtained a U.S. master’s degree or higher.
