In light of the recent earthquakes and tsunami in Japan, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) posted a helpful Q&A page for Japanese nationals. The Q&A is meant to remind Japanese nationals of certain U.S. immigration benefits available upon request including expedited processing for certain applications and petitions, eligibility for work authorization for certain Japanese students on F1 visas who are now facing severe economic hardship, and extensions of visitor visas and advance parole. If you’re a Japanese national, it is well worth visiting this helpful page.
